The Brodowski Quartet, founded in 2005, is fast emerging as one of the UK’s most exciting young string quartets. Based in London, the Quartet members are originally from Germany, Wales, Scotland and England. Since formation they have enjoyed performing throughout Europe; in some of the foremost venues in the UK such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Barbican Hall and the Purcell Room, for music societies and clubs throughout the UK and have undertaken three tours of Europe. Festivals include the Kronberg Festival, the Orlando Festival and a residency in Anghiari, Italy.
In 2007 they were winners of the Val Tidone (Italy) International Chamber Music Competition, 2nd prize winners in the Charles Hennen Competition (Netherlands), selected as Park Lane Group Young Artists for 2008, awarded the title of ‘Associate Artists’ at The Anvil Concert Hall, winners of the 2007-08 Bulldog Scholarship for String Quartet from Trinity College of Music, London and broadcast live on Radio 4 (Netherlands). Their role as Junior Fellows at Trinity College sees them regularly coaching student ensembles, working with the composition department and delivering their innovative, cross-departmental project ‘The Schubertiade project’.
They are extremely fortunate to regularly study with musicians from the renowned quartets of the Maggini, Takacs and Wihan Quartets and with Professor Eberhard Feltz. From 06-07 they studied with the Belcea Quartet generously supported by the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
